The 2009, (As you already know) marks the twenty five years of SANA's birth. Quarter of century ago some friends and well wishers of Sindh sat down and established Sindhi Association of North America with the goals and objectives outlined in its constitution. The biggest dream was to bring all Sindhis living in North America to a single platform and forum, where they could sit together, ponder and accomplish something for their community and the land that they left behind. Two and a half decades later this dream still to an extent remains far from its fulfillment.

SANA EC has named 2009 SANA annual convention as the SILVER JUBILEE CONVENTION to mark this occasion. This provides a good opportunity to all Sindhis to be together and share this forum.

This convention is being organized in St. Louis, Missouri by Sindhis living in greater St. Louis area, SANA EC and many other friends from all over United States. A lot of sincere effort is being put to make it a grand and successful event. For Sindhis of North America this hopefully will be a historic convention. Therefore, I request all of you on sanalist and otherwise to please mark the dates and make every effort to attend this convention to make it successful and memorable for yourself, your family and your friends.

 This will be a full three day affair with registration starting on Thursday July 2nd and convention ending on Monday July 6. This event has many facets: separate and full day programs for the ladies, young children, our youth and finally for all of us not so young. Apart from the main Banquet, two evenings of music program, a fashion show and lots of other cultural activities are being planned. Sindhi Adabi Mehfil, Speakers forum and political discussions are as usual integral part of the event. A web site about the Silver Jubilee Convention has been designed and created by Ada Mahmood Qalbani, the Chief Organizer of the convention  and has  already been  notified on sanalist. This site has full details concerning registration and hotel booking. The cost of  a room is $90 per night with free parking and free shuttle to and from the airport. Further information will be posted as more details are finalized.
